Ouxi Q8 battery 48V 20Ah: 960 Wh for up to 90 km on your Q8

This battery is the separate power pack for the Ouxi Q8. It delivers 48 volts and 20 amp-hours, 960 Wh in total. That is the same capacity as the battery the Q8 comes with. You buy it to replace a battery that no longer goes as far after years of use, or as a spare for long days.

Which bike is this battery for?

The battery is intended for the Ouxi Q8, the 20 inch fatbike with room for two people. The Q8 runs on a 250 W motor and has disc brakes, front suspension and a built-in alarm. Do you have another Ouxi model, such as the V8 or the C80? Then check the batteries to see which type fits your bike. Before you order, always compare the connector, the lock and the dimensions with your current battery.

What the battery does

Capacity and range

• Voltage: 48 V, the same as the battery fitted in the Q8.
• Capacity: 20 Ah, good for 960 Wh.
• High assist: about 75 km.
• Medium assist: about 85 km.
• Low assist: up to 90 km.
• Charging time: 4 to 6 hours from empty to full.

These distances are guidelines. Wind, cold, low tyre pressure and a passenger on the back all cost kilometres.

Charging on or off the bike

You can leave the battery in the frame and connect the bike to the charger. The display then shows how full it is. You can also unlock the battery with the key and charge it indoors. That is better for its lifespan, especially in winter. Do not charge in a cold or hot room. Do not put the charger on the saddle while charging, because it gets warm. The battery comes with two keys.

What a new battery does not change

A new or extra battery does not make the Q8 faster. On public roads, pedal assist stops at 25 km/h. Riding faster is only allowed on private or enclosed land. What you will notice: a worn battery no longer reaches the distances of a new bike, a new battery does.

Fitting the battery

Unlock the old battery with the key and slide it out of the frame. Slide the new battery in until it clicks into place. Then turn the lock closed again, so the battery cannot come loose while riding. Charge it fully before first use.

Up to 90 km on low assist and about 85 km on medium assist. On high assist, expect about 75 km. Headwind, cold and extra weight reduce that.

Can I use a second battery as a spare?

Yes. Take the empty battery out of the frame and fit the full one. That way you keep riding without waiting for the charger. Store the spare indoors and top it up now and then.
