With or without NFC: which do you choose?
For the Ouxi V8 series it makes no technical difference: both HC80 versions and the M5 fit every V8. The difference is in how you start the fatbike:
- With NFC (our recommendation): your fatbike only starts with your NFC card. Extra secure against theft, and children cannot switch the bike on without the card.
- Without NFC: starting with a PIN code.
25 or 45/50 km/h: what is the difference?
Every standard display is restricted to 25 km/h. A tunable display, together with a tunable controller, takes that limit off: the H6C goes up to 45 km/h, the HC80 and M5 up to 50 km/h. All tunable displays have a kill switch: with it you switch back to the normal 25 km/h in a few seconds, for example when someone else is riding the bike.
Common mistakes when choosing
- Ordering the wrong brand. An H6C never fits an Ouxi and an HC80 never fits a QMWheel.
- Ordering the ordinary HC80 for a Mini. The C80 Mini and C63 Mini need the special 36V version.
- Buying only one of the two for the GT2000. There you need both the tunable display and the tunable controller.
Frequently asked questions
Can I also keep riding at 25 km/h after tuning?
Yes. With the kill switch you easily switch back to the standard 25 km/h mode. That way you decide yourself when you use the extra speed, on private property only, of course.
Do I have to replace the controller as well as the display?
Yes. The tunable display contains the unlock code and the kill switch, the tunable controller delivers the power; with only the display the bike stays at 25 km/h. You'll find the matching controller for each model in the controllers collection.
Which version do I choose for my Ouxi V8?
They all fit. If you want the safest choice, go for the HC80 with NFC: then your fatbike only starts with your NFC card.
