I am just happy with it!

It steers a good deal more lightly than a fatbike with fat tyres.

exactly what I was after.

Skinny or standard

Was torn between this one and the standard V20 Pro, but for me the Skinny is ideal.

Lovely on tarmac

Lovely bike that rides nicely. On a gravel path I do miss the fat tyres.

Dasha BondarenkoVerified
Narrow but sturdy

Narrow tyres and still a sturdy frame

Ferry OostromVerified
Fits in the hallway

Fits into our hallway a good deal more easily than a wide fatbike.

Chantal BeumerVerified
A few months now

I have been riding it to the station and back for a few months now. It pedals away lightly, the battery gets through my whole week and it isn't in the way when I put it indoors. For town I couldn't have made a better choice.

QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike - Black: lighter steering and smooth rolling on tarmac

The QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike is the same bike as the QMWheel V20 Pro, but on narrow tyres. That makes the steering lighter and lets it roll more smoothly on tarmac. It suits you if you mostly ride on cycle paths and through town.

In figures: a 500W motor, a 48V / 15Ah / 720Wh battery and a range of up to 75 km. You order it from FatbikeKlaar.nl; from Belgium that goes through FatbikeKlaar.be and in English through FatbikeKlaar.com.

Why the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike is a good choice

Performance

  • Motor: 250W, with pedal assist up to 25 km/h in the Restricted (250W) version.
  • Battery: 48V / 15Ah / 720Wh.
  • Range: 45 km on high, 60 km on medium and up to 75 km on low assistance.
  • Charging time: 4 to 6 hours.
  • Brakes: disc brakes.
  • Tyres: 20 inch wheels with narrow tyres, not fatbike tyres.

Safety and the law

In the Restricted (250W) version the assistance stops at 25 km/h. That means you ride legally on the public road straight away. You do not need a driving licence, number plate or insurance, and wearing a helmet is not compulsory. The Tunable version goes up to 45 km/h. That speed is for private or enclosed property only; on the road 25 km/h remains the maximum.

The QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike in daily use

Comfort and riding position

The frame size is 75 cm. The bike is suitable for 2 people and can carry a maximum load of 150 kg. The front suspension takes the edge off speed bumps and cobbles. With 7 gears you pick a light gear when pulling away or riding into a headwind. Do keep the weight in mind: you do not just carry 34 kg up the stairs.

Battery, display and charging

A full charge takes 4 to 6 hours. How far you get depends mainly on the assistance: 45 km on high, 60 km on medium and up to 75 km on low. Do you ride 12 km there and 12 km back every day? Then one charge on the medium level lasts you well over two days. The bike has an LED display.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

The Tunable version goes up to 45 km/h. Tuning works the same way as on the QMWheel V20 Pro. Two parts belong to it: the tunable controller with red motor plug and the tunable H6C display. With the Tunable version these parts are already included: you do not need to buy anything separately and only pay the surcharge. For a spare part, note that this controller fits a motor with a red plug. You find separate tuning parts in the tuning kits. More explanation is in the article Tuning the QMWheel V20 to 45 km/h. Tuned riding is allowed on private or enclosed property only; on the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies.

Service, warranty and delivery

You get a 2-year warranty on everything: frame, battery, motor, display, controller and parts. For delivery you choose between two options. Boxed: you assemble the bike yourself. Assembled: we build it up, adjust the brakes and check the battery, so it arrives ready to ride. Order before 23:59 and you will have it at home tomorrow in the Netherlands.

Parts and accessories for the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike

  • Tunable controller: the version with red motor plug, the same one as for the QMWheel V20 Pro. With Tunable it is already included.
  • Tunable display: the H6C display that goes with that controller. With Tunable it is already included.
  • Tuning kits: separate tuning parts in one collection, handy if you look for a spare part later.
  • Tyres: narrow 20 inch tyres, not fatbike tyres. Check the size before you order a new tyre.

The QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike compared with our other fatbikes

QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike versus QMWheel V20 Pro

The QMWheel V20 Pro has the same 500W motor, the same 720Wh battery and the same range of up to 75 km. Both weigh 34 kg and are suitable for 2 people. The difference lies in the tyres, brakes and suspension. The V20 Pro rides on 20x4 inch fatbike tyres and has hydraulic disc brakes, a suspension fork and a rear shock absorber. If you want wide tyres, choose the V20 Pro. If you mostly ride on tarmac, the Skinny Bike suits you better.

QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike versus Ouxi GT2000

The Ouxi GT2000 has a 48V / 30Ah / 1440Wh battery, twice as much as the Skinny Bike. It reaches 80 km on average and up to 100 km on low assistance. It rides on 24 x 4.0 inch off-road tyres and is meant for 1 person. Both weigh 34 kg.

QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike versus Ouxi C80 Family Edition

The Ouxi C80 Family Edition also has a 720Wh battery and a range of up to 75 km. It weighs 36 kg, 2 kg more than the Skinny Bike. The C80 has hydraulic brakes and a sprung front fork. You can only buy it restricted; tuning it runs through a separate controller or display. With the Skinny Bike you choose that straight away when you order.

Advice and product finder

Unsure whether to go for narrow tyres or fatbike tyres, or about the right tuning part? The product finder lists the tunable parts per model. General questions are answered in the frequently asked questions. You get personal advice through WhatsApp on 06 82090642.

Ordering the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike at FatbikeKlaar

You make two choices. First the version: Restricted (250W) for the public road, or Tunable for private property. With Tunable the tuning parts are already included: you do not need to buy anything separately and only pay the surcharge. Then the delivery: boxed to assemble yourself, or assembled and ready to ride. The QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike only comes in black. You compare other models at all fatbikes.

Frequently asked questions about the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike

Do I need a driving licence for the QMWheel V20 Pro Skinny Bike?

No, not in the Restricted (250W) version. The assistance then stops at 25 km/h. You ride legally on the public road without a driving licence, number plate or insurance.

What is the difference with the QMWheel V20 Pro?

It is the same bike, but on narrow tyres instead of fatbike tyres. That makes the Skinny Bike steer lighter and roll more smoothly on tarmac.

How far do I get on one battery charge?

That depends on the assistance: about 45 km on high, 60 km on medium and up to 75 km on low. Charging takes 4 to 6 hours.

May I ride tuned on the public road?

No. The Tunable version goes up to 45 km/h, but only on private or enclosed property. On the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies.

Do I have to assemble the bike myself?

Only with boxed delivery. If you choose assembled, we build the bike up, adjust the brakes and check the battery. You get a 2-year warranty on everything: frame, battery, motor, display, controller and parts.
